- Member services
- Uniform and equipment
- Health and safety
Our meeting dates for 2012 are available here
The remit and membership of each committee is as follows;
Misconduct: This committee meets quarterly to discuss and debate misconduct and performance issues affecting the representative membership. The JBB has a Misconduct leader, whose role is to be aware of trends both local and national in the Misconduct arena, as well as a source of advice and support to reps and members. The committee is comprised of the full time officers, the Misconduct leader and any representative who has received training in the Misconduct and performance field.
Equality: This committee meets quarterly to discuss and debate equality and grievance issues affecting the representative membership. The JBB has an Equality leader, whose role is to be aware of trends both local and national in the Equality arena, as well as a source of advice and support to reps and members. The committee is comprised of the full time officers, the Equality leader and any representative who has received training in the Equality and Grievance field.
Member services: This committee meets quarterly and consists of two nominated members of each rank board, and the three full time officers. The remit of the committee is to introduce to the membership new offers and promotions that may be of interest to the membership. It is also an income generator for the Joint Branch Board.
Uniform and Equipment: This committee meets quarterly and consists of two nominated members of each rank board, and the three full time officers in addition co opted members of the committee are the Deputy Chief Constable, Uniform Stores and fleet managers. The remit of the committee is looking at issues surrounding the uniform and equipment that is available to officers and staff across the Constabulary and to look at improvements for officers.
Health and Safety: The Health and Safety functions of the Hampshire Police Federation are different from many other local boards. Hampshire JBB has a Health and safety leader who can call upon approx 50 trained safety reps to assist with the inspection of premises and the investigation of incidents. This group of safety reps meets on a quarterly basis and receives an annual development day.
The Joint Branch Board also has a sub committee which takes a more strategic view of the Health and Safety issues across the Force. This sub committee is comprised of the full time officers, the Health and safety leader and two representatives from each rank board. Ideally each OCU should have representation at this committee.
Any other sub committee may be formed to deal with a specific issue but must have equal representation from the rank boards.
The Joint Branch Board also has representatives on many Force and OCU committees and working groups. Examples include Driver training, personal safety, and Resource management.
We are working hard to ensure that the voice of our members is heard and considered by Force decision makers.
