David Morgan

CID representative - Dave Morgan

David.morgan@hampshire.pnn.police.uk

I am Dave Morgan and I am the Detective Inspectors rep, representing DI's and DCI's across Hampshire and the IOW.

I was encouraged by some of my colleagues to volunteer for the position of rep for Det Insps and Det Chief Insps, and I thought that this would be a good way of using my knowledge, skills and experience in the Force - in a different way.

As of September 2011 I gained 21 years service, the majority being in CID. I have worked in the North of the County as a DC, and since 2002 have worked predominantly in Southampton as a DS and Det Insp. In 2009/10 I had an 16 month posting to PSD where I managed the HQ Investigation Team and then the Anti-Corruption Unit, before I left at short notice for "my development."

Whilst working in PSD I gained valuable experience and knowledge of how that department investigated matters under Criminal Law, and particularly the Misconduct Regs. I formed an excellent working relationship with various federation reps and on the whole was impressed by the commitment they gave to their members.

In December 2011 I am due to attend a Federation course specifically regarding Misconduct and Performance, which I envisage will allow me to provide excellent advice/support to members in the future.

Away from work I enjoy spending time with my family, playing the occasional game of cricket and being an armchair supporter of Southampton FC.
